Forever Fund: Women in Focus Scholarship Endowment Fund
In November of 2011, Women in Focus, Inc. (WIF) members took on the ambitious goal to create an endowed Women in Focus Scholarship at the Madison Community Foundation. Once fully funded, the Endowment would generate enough income and growth to produce a scholarship each year. The amount needed for the first endowed scholarship was $52,000, a daunting amount. The idea that we could continue to award scholarships far into the future has inspired us to work tirelessly toward this goal.
Since 2011, with the support of generous donors, significant contributions have been made to the WIF Endowment Fund. And the Fund balance has grown under the management of Madison Community Foundation. In 2014 we met our first milestone and we are thrilled that we will be able to award the first WIF Endowed Scholarship in 2015. This scholarship will be awarded in the name of Jan and Al Studesville, two prominent Madison community members who died tragically in a motorcycle accident in June of 2013. Jan was a founding member of Women in Focus. WIF plans to continue to award an endowed scholarship in the name of the Studesvilles for many years to come.
We continue our mission to increase our Endowment so we can award additional endowed scholarships in the future. If you would like to help, we would very much appreciate your donation. Women in Focus Scholarship Fund
If you want to know that your donation will make a difference now, please give to the Scholarship Fund. Donations made to the Women in Focus Scholarship Fund are immediately added to the funds used to provide our annual scholarships. Through the help of our generous donors and sponsors, WIF was able to increase the scholarship award amount in 2014 to $2500 for each student and in 2017 we were proud to be able award 16 scholarships. With help from sponsors and the community, we hope to continue and even increase our annual scholarship amounts.
